Star English instructor Jo Jung-sik (42) has become embroiled in allegations of question trading. The Board of Audit and Inspection has captured evidence of his misconduct.

In January, the Board of Audit and Inspection released a report titled 'Inspection of Participation by Teachers in the Private Education Market.' This report examined the issue of question trading between some teachers and private education companies. Jo was mentioned multiple times in the report. His question supply company allegedly commissioned an English teacher, referred to as A, from a certain high school in Seoul for 58 million won (pre-tax) to provide questions for a mock college entrance exam.

The problem is that some of the questions provided by A were included in question 23 of the English section of the actual college entrance exam, known as the 'Too Much Information' passage, which has sparked controversy.

The Ministry of Education requested an investigation by the police in July of last year. The Board of Audit and Inspection also began its own investigation. Subsequently, 47 current teachers and 19 private education companies and instructors were referred to the prosecution, with Jo also being sent to trial without detention.

However, Jo denies all allegations. His legal representatives, lawyers Choi Bong-kyun and Jeong Seong-yeop from the law firm PyeongAn, claimed, "We are confident that there is clear evidence of innocence." They also stated, "Instructor Jo Jung-sik has never directly paid the 58 million won to the involved teacher." As the investigation is ongoing, they refrained from elaborating on specific grounds for his innocence.

They also hinted at potential legal action. Choi's legal team warned, "We clearly state that we will take all legal measures against the distribution of false information or defamation."

Meanwhile, Jo Jung-sik is the lead English instructor for MegaStudy and is currently appearing on Channel A's 'Teachers Season 2.' A media interview is scheduled for the 13th.
