On the 2nd, MBC-TV released the first teaser video for their new Friday-Saturday drama 'Death to Snow White – Black Out' (hereafter referred to as 'Snow White') (directed by Byun Young-joo, written by Seo Ju-yeon). It hinted at a spectacular storyline and atmosphere.
'Snow White' is based on the novel of the same name by Nele Neuhaus. It's a reverse-tracing crime thriller about a young man who is identified as the perpetrator of a murder case where no corpse has been found, and becomes a convicted murderer. He reveals the truth of that day 10 years later.
The video sheds light on the ruined life of high school student Go Jung-woo 11 years ago. He showed violent behaviors without hesitation, such as hitting a classmate with a blunt object. However, he has no memory of it.
Go Jung-woo’s dark prison life is unveiled. He became despondent when even his parents turned their backs on him. In a prison full of vicious criminals, Go Jung-woo was targeted by everyone and suffered various assaults.
A helper also appears. Detective No Sang-chul (played by Go Jun), who re-investigates Go Jung-woo's murder case, comes down to Mucheon City. He begins to uncover the secret of that day 11 years ago by revisiting traces of the past one by one.
An official stated, "'Snow White' stimulates the desire for investigation" and "the moment the truth, cleverly hidden among the fragmented memories of Go Jung-woo, reveals itself, it will offer a thrilling twist."
Director Byun Young-joo directed it, making her drama debut. She has previously presented films like 'Helpless' and 'The Murmuring.' There is also interest in the meeting between Byun Yo-han and director Byun Young-joo.
