[Breaking News] Presidential Office: “5 security chief officials involved in ’emergency martial law’ placed on standby”

The Presidential Office has announced that "five head officers from the Security Service who were involved in the 'martial law' have been placed on standby."

On the morning of the 9th, spokesperson Kang Yu-jung stated, "During the internal disturbance on December 3rd, the Security Service caused social confusion and conflict by blocking the execution of legally issued arrest warrants and searches."

Spokesperson Kang pointed out that "the leadership of the Security Service refused lawful orders and retaliated against executives who cooperated with the execution of arrest warrants."

Furthermore, she said, "A government agency that should serve the entire nation effectively turned into a private militia for former President Yoon, sparking public outrage among many citizens," and added, "The Presidential Office held a personnel committee today and placed all five heads involved in the December 3rd martial law on standby."

Finally, she emphasized, "Until additional personnel measures are implemented, the Security Service will temporarily operate under an acting system," noting, "This is a measure for personnel renewal and organizational stabilization following the establishment of the new government, and it reflects President Lee Jae-myung's emphasis on open and low-profile security."
