Support Fund for Victims of the Itaewon Disaster Accepting Applications Starting on 9th… Up to 5.55 Million Won Provided
Applications for the support fund for victims of the Itaewon disaster on October 29 will begin on the 9th. This marks the official start of substantial support for victims and their families.
On the 8th, the Support Fund Review Committee for the Itaewon disaster announced the final determination of the criteria for the payment of the support fund during its meeting held on the 27th of last month.

Up to 3.74 Million Won Provided Based on Household Composition
The support fund will be provided based on the number of household members in which the victim or deceased belongs. For general victim households, the amounts are as follows: 730,500 won for single-person households, 1,205,000 won for two-person households, 1,541,700 won for three-person households, and 1,872,700 won for four-person households.
Households to which a deceased person belonged will receive higher support. Single-person households will receive 1,461,000 won, two-person households 2,410,000 won, three-person households 3,083,400 won, and four-person households 3,745,400 won respectively. For households with seven or more members, up to 5,550,200 won will be provided.
The amount paid will not be included in the calculation of the recognized income for basic livelihood security beneficiaries for one year from the date of receipt.
Applications Should Be Made to the Relevant Local Government… Foreigners According to Embassy Guidelines

Applications can be submitted in person at the local city or district office corresponding to the victim's registered residence, or via mail or fax. Foreigners without a registered address can apply through the city or district office in the area where their nationality's embassy is located.
If there is a disagreement with the decision regarding the support fund, an objection application must be submitted to the relevant local government within 30 days from the date of notification.
