Five perpetrators of malicious comments insulting the late Kim Ha-neul and her family have been apprehended.

Regarding the 'Late Kim Ha-neul Murder Case,' which occurred at an elementary school in Daejeon, five authors of defamatory comments against the deceased and the bereaved family have been arrested by the police.

On the 5th, the Cyber Investigation Unit of the Daejeon Police Agency reported that they have arrested two individuals, including a man in his 40s identified as A, for defamation under the Act on the Punishment of Crimes Against the Honor of the Deceased, along with three others on charges of defamation.

They are suspected of posting derogatory comments about the deceased or insulting the bereaved family on portal news articles or online communities after the incident involving the late Kim Ha-neul.

Requests to Delete 440 Malicious Comments Not Classified as Crimes

Additionally, the police have requested the Korea Communications Standards Commission to delete or block 440 posts containing accusatory content that do not qualify as criminal offenses.

Previously, the bereaved family of the late Kim Ha-neul had filed a complaint against the five authors who posted malicious comments.

A police official stated, "A was sent to the prosecution in April, and the investigation of the remaining four individuals who have been arrested is in the final stages, with plans to transfer them soon."
