Jeju Middle School Teacher Found Dead, Police to Secure Evidence Through Cell Phone Forensics
As it has been revealed that the middle school teacher found dead in Jeju had been suffering from continuous complaints, the police are expected to secure evidence through cell phone forensics and other means.
According to the Jeju Eastern Police Station on the 23rd, an investigation is underway to clarify the background of the case involving the deceased teacher, identified as A (in their 40s), who was found dead at a Jeju middle school the previous morning.
The police stated that they plan to conduct a cell phone forensic analysis on Teacher A's phone and investigate the family and related parties.

A police official explained, "There are no signs of foul play, so the funeral proceedings will be conducted, and we will look into the reasons that led to the teacher's death afterward."
If Teacher A was indeed receiving threats via telephone from parents or guardians of students, the police indicate they will consider applying charges of intimidation or similar offenses against the family involved.
Teacher Tormented by Malicious Complaints, Community in Mourning
According to the local education sector and the bereaved family, Teacher A had been suffering significant psychological distress this year due to malicious complaints from a student's family. It is reported that Teacher A had issued guidance related to the student’s smoking and unauthorized absences, but the family used this as grounds to call as many as ten times a day or even reach out late at night.
Comments mourning Teacher A on a tribute post shared by the Jeju chapter of the National Teachers' Union on Instagram numbered over 70.

Those presumed to be former students expressed their condolences, saying, "I had a good time in middle school thanks to you, teacher," and "Thanks to you, school life was enjoyable."
On an online mother’s cafe in Jeju, messages of sympathy continued, saying, "What a truly excellent and kind person, this is upsetting," and "The classes were fun, and they embraced the children. A graduated child is crying uncontrollably," and "I think appropriate laws need to be established so that good teachers are protected, as this ultimately protects our children."
The Jeju chapter of the Korean Federation of Teachers' Associations, the Korean Secondary Teachers' Union, and the Korea Teachers and Education Workers Union have all issued statements urging thorough investigations and preventing recurrence.
The Jeju Office of Education will operate a joint memorial altar for Teacher A from the 23rd until the 25th in front of the Education Office.
