
Hollywood actor Tom Cruise's action has captured Korean audiences. On the fifth day of its release, it surpassed 1 million viewers.
The film 'Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning' (directed by Christopher McQuarrie) was released on the 17th. According to the Korea Film Council’s integrated ticketing system, as of the 21st, the total number of viewers exceeded 1.01 million.
It is the ninth film released this year to hit 1 million viewers, achieving this milestone three days faster than 'Opposition’ (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk). It has set the stage for a strong box office performance, surpassing the anticipated number one film of 2025.
The cast has expressed their gratitude. Simon Pegg (playing Benji Dunn) filmed a video during his visit to Korea, where he greeted viewers with a Korean phrase and thanked them for all the love.
Greg Tarzan Davis (playing Theo Dega) recommended watching it in theaters, stating, "This May, the one and only choice is 'Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning,’" urging audiences to meet in the theaters.
'Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning' is the eighth installment in the 'Mission Impossible' series. The story begins as Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) and the IMF team are thrust into a crisis threatening all of humanity.
It is practically dominating the box office. Since its release, it has maintained over 70% market share in ticket sales. On its first day alone, it was viewed by 420,000 people. It has received praise for completing action sequences with unprecedented scale and tension.
