Actor Choo Young-woo and Jo Yi-hyun present a first love rescue romance.
The production team of tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Cowherd and the Fairy' (written by Yang Ji-hoon, directed by Kim Yong-wan) revealed still cuts of Choo Young-woo, Jo Yi-hyun, and Cha Kang-yoon on the 21st, hinting at their thrilling chemistry.
'The Cowherd and the Fairy' is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It depicts the romance of eighteen-year-olds involving a boy destined to die and an MZ shaman girl trying to prevent it.
Jo Yi-hyun plays the role of 'Park Sung-ah'. Sung-ah leads a double life as a high school student by day and a shaman by night. She embarks on a mission to save her first love by becoming a human talisman to ward off bad luck for Bae Gyeon-woo.
Choo Young-woo portrays 'Bae Gyeon-woo'. Gyeon-woo is fated to die from birth and carries misfortune with him. Due to his continuous struggles against bad luck, he appears rough and prickly. His encounter with Park Sung-ah brings about a change in his life.
Cha Kang-yoon plays 'Pyo Ji-ho'. Ji-ho fights alongside Bae Gyeon-woo's fate for the sake of Park Sung-ah. As he witnesses Sung-ah’s efforts to save Gyeon-woo, he begins to feel unfamiliar emotions.

The stills captured the 'Trio from Hwamakgo'. Park Sung-ah appeared innocent, not much different from an ordinary high school girl. She conveyed the extraordinary aura of 'Cheonji Fairy' with a mysterious gaze.
Bae Gyeon-woo showcased his potential as an archery prodigy. His expression, devoid of a smile, reflected the years of fighting against misfortune, resulting in a steely resolve that hardly flinches at anything.
Pyo Ji-ho heightened the excitement with a warm smile. The humorless Bae Gyeon-woo undergoes transformation upon meeting Park Sung-ah. Will Park Sung-ah, Bae Gyeon-woo, and Pyo Ji-ho be able to defeat misfortune and protect their first love?
Jo Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo previously worked together in 'School 2021' and reunite after three years. Jo Yi-hyun said, "We were able to create good synergy. I also had a great chemistry with Cha Kang-yoon, who I was working with for the first time."
Choo Young-woo also shared, "I had previous experience working with Jo Yi-hyun, which made me rely on her a lot on set," adding, "Cha Kang-yoon has a playful personality, and we quickly became close. The atmosphere on set was always enjoyable."
Cha Kang-yoon revealed, "The chemistry between Jo Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo was already complete. I just needed to blend in well. Thanks to them pulling me along and helping, our teamwork was great."
He continued, "Jo Yi-hyun created a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. It seems the chemistry between Sung-ah and Ji-ho turned out well. Choo Young-woo helped me express the character in a more fun way, and I am grateful for that."
Meanwhile, 'The Cowherd and the Fairy' is set to premiere next month.
