Lee Chang-soo, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Resigns for Health Reasons
Lee Chang-soo has abruptly announced his resignation.
The chief prosecutor submitted his intention to resign to the Ministry of Justice today, reportedly for health reasons.

Jo Sang-won, Deputy Chief Prosecutor, who has been overseeing special investigations at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, also resigned alongside him.
Both prosecutors have led major investigations within the prosecution until recently.
Lee and Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jo were previously subjected to impeachment proceedings in the National Assembly after they concluded there was no wrongdoing in the investigation into the allegations of stock price manipulation involving Kim Geon-hee, the wife of President Yoon Suk-yeol.
They returned to work in March following the Constitutional Court's dismissal of their impeachment; however, they have chosen to resign just a few months later.
