Choi Seo-won’s daughter, Jeong Yu-yeon, expresses her disappointment over former President Yoon’s departure from the People Power Party
Jeong Yu-yeon, the daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly known as Choi Soon-sil), a key figure in the Park Geun-hye government scandal, has revealed her feelings of disappointment regarding former President Yoon Seok-youl's news of leaving the People Power Party.
On the 17th, Jeong shared an article about Yoon’s departure from the party through her YouTube channel, expressing that she feels “sad and disappointed.”

She urged for support toward candidate Kim Moon-soo, stating, “Let’s unite for now and ensure that Yoon’s sacrifice is not in vain.”
However, she also added a critical remark regarding the party, saying, “After this presidential election, we need to completely overhaul the People Power Party.”

Meanwhile, on the same day, former President Yoon posted on Facebook, “Dear party members and comrades, today I am leaving the People Power Party,” revealing his intention to resign from the party.
He continued, “I will serve in a military-like manner to protect freedom and sovereignty,” noting, “The Republic of Korea stands at a crossroads where the existence of the liberal democratic system is at stake.”
Additionally, he stated, “My departure from the People Power Party is to fulfill my responsibility to protect a free Republic of Korea,” and encouraged voters to rally behind candidate Kim Moon-soo.
