Lee Jun-seok Calls Lee Jae-myung's '4.5-Day Workweek' Promise "Like a Cult"
Lee Jun-seok, the presidential candidate of the Reform Party, made a somewhat harsh remark towards Lee Jae-myung, the candidate of the Democratic Party, saying it seemed "like a cult."
During the first television debate (economic sector) for the 21st presidential election held on the 18th, candidate Lee Jun-seok strongly criticized candidate Lee Jae-myung’s promise of a ‘4.5-day workweek with no wage reduction,’ stating, "There was no explanation on how this would be achieved."

In the televised debate, candidate Lee Jun-seok questioned Lee Jae-myung, asking, "Does the intention to implement a 4.5-day workweek without wage reduction mean that all the burdens will be placed on the companies?"
Lee Jae-myung Responds with 'General Direction' Instead of Specific Plans
In response, candidate Lee Jae-myung said, "Of course, we should move to a 4.5-day workweek without wage reduction," adding, "This is illustrating the direction we need to take through gradual social compromise."
Instead of presenting specific plans, he provided an answer focused on a 'general direction.'
"Approaching like a cult in difficult times"

In the latter part of the debate, candidate Lee Jun-seok launched an attack, stating, "As you just confirmed, candidate Lee Jae-myung has omitted the 'how' and merely keeps repeating the declarations of 'I will do this and that.'"
He further criticized, "Just as cults tend to approach people in times of hardship and difficulty, candidate Lee Jae-myung evokes thoughts of such a dangerous type of politician."
Candidate Lee Jae-myung had exhausted his speaking time and could not respond to this criticism; it seems he felt no need to refute it as he did not mention it when given the opportunity to speak.
