‘BTS’ Jungkook flaunts his global popularity even during military service by recording 1 billion streams on Spotify this year.

World Music Awards (WMA) announced on the 26th, “Jungkook has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify this year alone, becoming the first and only K-pop solo artist to achieve this record.”

Recently, Jungkook set new records on Spotify. He surpassed 900 million streams with a total of 2 songs (Seven, Left and Right), a first for a K-pop solo artist and second among all K-pop artists.

He also rewrote the record for Asian solo artists by holding the most songs with over 400 million streams. A total of 6 songs (Seven, 3D, Standing Next to You, Dreamers, Left and Right, Euphoria) have achieved this.

It’s a record-breaking journey. Jungkook has also surpassed 5.2 billion streams on Spotify across all credits in his personal account. His solo album ‘Golden’ has also broken through 3 billion streams, a first for a K-pop solo album.

Meanwhile, Jungkook, along with Jimin, enlisted in the army as active-duty soldiers last December. They are expected to be discharged in June 2025. BTS, which includes Jungkook, is scheduled for full-group activities in 2025.
