Four-Vehicle Collision Occurs in Suncheon-Wanju Expressway Tunnel
A four-vehicle collision occurred at the Yongam 4 Tunnel on the Suncheon-Wanju Expressway in Wanju County, Jeollabuk-do.
At around 10:06 AM on the 19th, a grain transport trailer, a school trip tour bus, a 1-ton cargo truck, and a passenger vehicle collided in succession.
As a result of this accident, four people were lightly injured, including the trailer driver A (in his 60s), the tour guide B (a woman in her 30s), and a student C (a teenager) on the bus, and were transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, but it appears that the incident caused significant shock to the students who were on a school trip.

Traffic Control Due to School Trip Bus Involvement
The tour bus involved in the accident was confirmed to be en route to a school trip from a middle school in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do.

The bus completely blocked the tunnel, resulting in a traffic control situation that lasted for about two hours. Consequently, vehicles passing through the affected section had to use detour roads, leading to significant congestion on the expressway.
The police believe that the trailer at the rear struck the bus, causing a chain reaction that led to collisions with the truck and passenger vehicle in front.
Currently, an investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident is underway, with a close examination of the trailer driver's possible negligence and the road conditions at the time of the incident.
