"Kim Moon-soo, Promises and Abilities Enough… Defeats Lee Jae-myung"

Kim Gye-ree, the lawyer who represented former President Yoon Seok-youl during the impeachment trial and stated he was "enlightened by the December 3rd martial law", has publicly announced his membership in the People Power Party and re-entered the political scene.

On the 17th, Kim Gye-ree shared a screenshot of his completed membership application on his Facebook, stating, "Today, for the first time in my life, I decided to have a party affiliation."

He expressed his support for candidate Kim Moon-soo, saying, "Now is the time for candidate Kim Moon-soo."

Regarding his reasons for joining the party, Kim emphasized, "There is much that needs to be known about his verified abilities, vision, promises, and even his ability to meet challenges," actively promoting candidate Kim Moon-soo’s competitiveness in the presidential election.

He continued, "The support rate against the impeachment has exceeded 50% in polls," asserting, "That is enough to defeat candidate Lee Jae-myung."

Kim also said, "It is the members of the People Power Party who chose candidate Kim," and raised his voice against referring to members of the Unified Democratic Party (the Freedom Unification Party) as it insults the members who voted for Kim.

Kim Gye-ree, in the past impeachment trial process at the Constitutional Court, claimed to have been "enlightened by the December 3rd martial law." He was known for his strong conservative statements while serving as a lawyer for former President Yoon Seok-youl.

With his entry into the party, he publicly revealed his appointment letters as a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the People Power Party in 2021 and as part of the Media Legal Team in 2024, stating, "Now I won't just have my name on the list; I will repay through substantive activities."
