Impersonation "No-show" Incident Involving Lee Jae-myung's Election Camp in Daejeon
A "no-show" scam impersonating a representative of Lee Jae-myung's election camp from the Democratic Party has occurred in Daejeon.
According to the Democratic Party's Daejeon City Chapter on the 14th, an order was placed on the 13th with a business card production company in Mannyeondong, Seo-gu, for 300,000 business cards worth about 2 million won featuring the candidate's name.
The order was placed by an individual identified only as A, who claimed to be a representative from Lee's election camp but did not disclose any further personal information.
The issue arose when A failed to show up on the agreed day to collect the business cards, committing what is known as a "no-show."

At that time, A attempted to induce the company to make a payment by saying, "Please send money for food expenses needed for the campaign."
Sensing something was off, the company confirmed the order with the Daejeon City Chapter, realizing that A's order was part of a no-show scam impersonating the candidate.
Earlier, on the 10th, there was also an incident where an official from the Democratic Party impersonated Lee to order campaign materials in Inje, Yangyang, and Chuncheon.
As a series of "no-show" impersonation scams aimed at damaging the candidate's image continued, the Democratic Party stated, "We urge individuals to immediately verify similar orders with the local city and provincial chapters and will respond strictly to such incidents."
