"No warning, suddenly dropped"… A sudden fall during the announcement broadcast
The Lotte World’s representative ride, the Gyro Drop, allows thrill-seekers to experience weightlessness as it descends from a height of 70 meters. A terrifying incident occurred on this ride.
Recently, various posts and videos emerged on social media and online communities, detailing that at around 8 PM on the 10th, the Gyro Drop unexpectedly stopped while ascending into the sky.

According to some passengers, the Gyro Drop's operator announced that "the automatic safety sensor was activated, and the operation was temporarily halted." However, during the announcement, the ride suddenly dropped.
They recounted, "Just hanging still in the sky was scary enough, but suddenly dropping was terrifying," and added, "I was shivering from the cold," and "I thought we were falling, and my heart sank."
Five months after a long inspection… An incident occurred even after replacing aging parts.

The Gyro Drop, which began operating in April 1998, underwent a maintenance period of about three months from September 23 to December 29 last year to create a comfortable riding environment. It is reported that aging mechanical components and systems were replaced, and repainting was carried out.
Despite this, visitors are expressing their anxiety after such an incident. Furthermore, it has been criticized that the ride was immediately resumed after the accident, showing a priority on maintaining the schedule over passenger safety.
As of now, Lotte World has not released an official statement. Many are reacting with comments like, "I don't know if I can ride again," and "I will never ride it again," indicating the need for a clear explanation regarding this incident and measures to prevent recurrence.
