The shoes worn by Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party candidate, during the first rally of his election campaign are gaining immense popularity on online shopping malls.

On the 12th, the candidate held a 'Presidential Election Launch Ceremony' at Gwanghwamun Cheonggye Plaza in Seoul on the first day of his campaign.

Upon arriving at the venue, Lee changed out of his suit and shoes into a blue Democratic Party jumper and comfortable sneakers.

The design of the sneakers was particularly eye-catching, featuring both the blue of the Democratic Party and the red of the People Power Party, drawing attention. This choice is interpreted as an extension of his recent efforts to broaden his appeal to conservative voters and emphasize 'unity.'

Additionally, the phrases 'Now is Lee Jae-myung' and 'From now on, the real Republic of Korea' were inscribed on both sides.

The shoes worn by the candidate that day were identified as the Classic Leather GY1522 model released by Reebok in 2022.

Following the launch ceremony, it was reported that searching for this model on various online shopping sites mostly resulted in 'sold out' notices or restock schedules, indicating a complete sellout trend.

Meanwhile, amid concerns over assassination threats against him, the candidate has been under police protection and was noted to be wearing a bulletproof vest.
