"Candidate, do you not drink alcohol?…" Kim Moon-soo's response is

Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, chose none other than Garak Market in Seoul as the location for his first election campaign rally.

On the morning of the 12th, on the first day of his election campaign, candidate Kim toured Garak Market with Kim Yong-tae, the newly appointed chairperson of the emergency countermeasure committee of the People Power Party, and enjoyed some sundae-guk (blood sausage soup).

When the sundae-guk that he ordered arrived at the restaurant, a member of the merchants' association asked him, "Candidate, do you not drink alcohol?" while Kim was cooling down his soup.

A warm bowl of soup accompanied by a glass of soju is often referred to as a common people's "soul food," which likely prompted the question.

In response to this inquiry, candidate Kim asked, "Alcohol?" and replied, "I am not a mainstream drinker."

He then joked, "If I don't drink, I also say less nonsense."

In fact, candidate Kim's alcohol tolerance is known to be around two glasses of soju. Additionally, having been diagnosed with otitis media and classified as exempt from military service, he needs to keep a distance from alcohol.

Meanwhile, after finishing his visit to the market and meeting with journalists, candidate Kim stated, "Garakdong Agricultural and Marine Products Market is a place where one can encounter vivid realities beyond any statistical indicators or articles."

He emphasized, "Here, I thought that I really need to become the president of the market, the president for people's livelihoods, the president for the economy, and the president who ensures that the Republic of Korea thrives."
