“Being Named the Same as Kim Moon-soo”… Democratic Party’s Kim Moon-soo Removed the Banner in Tears (Video)

Presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo has a namesake… Democratic Party's Kim Moon-soo removes banners after receiving complaints

As Kim Moon-soo, former Minister of Employment and Labor, has been confirmed as the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, an unexpected victim has been spotted.

That victim is Democratic Party member Kim Moon-soo, who posted on his Facebook on the 11th, "ㅠㅠㅠ Remove Kim Moon-soo banners!!!" along with a video and photos of himself taking down his own banner that reads 'Kim Moon-soo.'

Representative Kim, whose constituency includes Suncheon City, Gwangyang City, Gokseong County, and Gurye County, explained the reason for the removal, stating, "I am taking down the banner due to strong protests from Democratic Party members and citizens of Suncheon City who are confusing me with Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party."

The released video shows Kim using garden shears and other tools to remove banners posted in various locations.

In particular, it has been noted that both politicians share not only the same Hangul name but also the same Hanja characters, resulting in confusion among voters and accusations of inadvertently promoting the opposing candidate.

Supporters of Kim reacted by saying, "Please change your Facebook display name to 'Democratic Party Kim Moon-soo,'" "It's unfortunate that you have the same name," "This is a funny and sad reality," "You might get promoted more than presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo," and "Hang in there, fighting!"

Meanwhile, Candidate Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party completed his registration as a presidential candidate with the National Election Commission on the 11th.

Previously, Candidate Kim had been embroiled in conflict over the issue of candidate replacement within the People Power Party. However, on the day before, a vote among party members to replace him with Han Duck-soo failed, allowing him to restore his status as the party's presidential candidate and commence his campaign starting from that day.
