Nurse Steals ‘Gold Necklace’ from 25-Month-Old Baby on Grandmother’s Back (Video)

A Shocking Theft Incident at a Hospital

A shocking incident occurred in which a nursing assistant stole a gold necklace from a 25-month-old baby who was taken to the hospital due to a high fever.

Even more surprisingly, the child was being carried on a familiar grandmother's back, but the nursing assistant skillfully took the necklace off.

On the 9th of this month, JTBC's 'Case Manager' reported on the theft incident that took place on the 19th of last month at a clinic.

The informant, Mr. A, went to the nearby clinic with his 25-month-old baby showing high fever symptoms and returned home after receiving intravenous treatment.

However, after returning home, he discovered that the 1-don (about 3.75 grams) gold necklace that had been around the baby's neck was missing.

Mr. A immediately requested to view the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the clinic. The clinic staff responded, "We can only show it if you file a police report," and Mr. A promptly contacted the police.

The CCTV captured a shocking scene. The footage showed the nursing assistant stealing the baby's gold necklace in just 10 seconds while they were going for the intravenous treatment.

The lost necklace was a gift from the child's maternal grandmother on the baby's first birthday.

While going to the intravenous room with his grandmother on her back, the nursing assistant took the necklace off the baby's neck from behind.

Even more shocking was that the nursing assistant caused an injury to the baby's neck during this process.

Discovery of Additional Victims and the Clinic's Tepid Response

Initially, the nursing assistant denied the charges but later confessed to the crime and returned the necklace.

Anchor Yang Won-bo pointed out, "No matter how high the price of gold is, how can one take something that is around a baby's neck?"

Lawyer Park Ji-hoon also remarked after watching the footage, "It looks like they are really adept at taking it. This seems to be habitual behavior."

The clinic stated to Mr. A, "The nursing assistant has been an employee for two years and had a very good reputation," and added, "She has resigned, so please reach a proper settlement." Mr. A expressed anger at the clinic's tepid response.

Even more seriously, there are concerns that this may not be the first incident of its kind.

Mr. A claimed that after searching for the clinic on a local mom cafe, he found three more additional victims who had also lost their children's necklaces.

He stated, "It seems that this is not a one-time occurrence, and the nursing assistant's attitude of not properly apologizing is truly disgusting. I reported this hoping that no other victim would arise."

The nursing assistant attempted to negotiate a settlement, but Mr. A's side rejected it, and the case has been forwarded to the prosecution.

Netizens who viewed the footage reacted by saying, "It seems too natural for it to be a one-time occurrence," "They should be punished severely," and "We may need to check their criminal record."
