At the time, A adamantly denied driving, but when the police presented evidence from closed-circuit (CC) TV footage, A eventually admitted to driving under the influence.
Following a breathalyzer test, A's blood alcohol concentration was found to be at a level that would result in license cancellation. The police arrested A on charges of drunk driving and fleeing the scene of an accident.
A police official stated, "Drunk driving is a serious crime that threatens not only oneself but also the lives of others," adding, "Fleeing the scene after an accident increases the possibility of additional victims, and we plan to impose strict penalties for this behavior."
