Two Women Charged with Extortion of 200 Million Won from YouTuber ‘Jjuyang’
Two women have been brought to court for extortion involving a large sum through threats against the famous Mukbang YouTuber ‘Jjuyang’ (real name Park Jung-won).
The Criminal Division 3 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office (Chief Prosecutor Choi Soon-ho) announced on the 9th that they had indicted Song and Kim on charges of joint extortion under the Act on the Punishment of Violent Crimes without detention on the 24th of last month.
They are accused of continuously threatening Jjuyang from June 2021 to November 2022, extorting a total of 216 million won. The specific contents and methods of the threats have not yet been disclosed.

Investigation Process and Decision for Non-Custodial Indictment
This case was reported to the police through a complaint filed by a friend of Jjuyang in July.
After conducting an investigation, the police applied for arrest warrants for the suspects, but the court rejected the warrants on the grounds that there was "no concern of flight."
