Singer Nam Taehyun Under Controversy for DUI while on Probation

Nam Taehyun, a former member of the group Winner, is under police investigation for driving under the influence while receiving probation for drug-related charges.

The Yongsan Police Department in Seoul stated that Nam Taehyun has been booked for DUI under the Road Traffic Act and is currently under investigation.

On the morning of the 27th of last month, at around 4:10 AM, Nam Taehyun, while under the influence of alcohol, caused an accident near the Dongjak Bridge on the Gangbyeonbuk-ro highway by attempting to overtake a vehicle and crashing into the central divider.

At the time of the accident, there were no reported injuries; however, Nam Taehyun's blood alcohol concentration was above the 0.08% threshold that leads to license suspension.

This is not his first DUI. Previously, in July 2023, he was fined 6 million won for driving under the influence in Gangnam, Seoul.

Additionally, Nam Taehyun was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence for methamphetamine use last year.

This incident occurred during his probation period, and while the police applied for a warrant for his arrest, the court rejected it.

A police official stated, "After additional investigations, we plan to forward Mr. Nam to the prosecution soon."
