Mr. A is accused of extorting a total of approximately 14 million won from his ex-girlfriend, Ms. B, by threatening to distribute past sexual videos from late 2023 to March of this year.

Ms. B, who has an intellectual disability, had reportedly been psychologically manipulated by Mr. A's promise to "correct her behavior," leading her to take out loans to give him money.

It has been reported that the victim once attempted to take her own life in February, fearing that her family would find out about the situation.

The police began an investigation after receiving a complaint from Ms. B's side in March and recently applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A, believing that his charges were substantiated. However, the court dismissed the warrant, citing that "evidence has already been secured."

In response, the police plan to conduct additional investigations on Mr. A and review whether to reapply for an arrest warrant.
