Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, made an abrupt announcement on June 6 to suspend his campaign schedule.
During a meeting with reporters after visiting the Gyeongju Hwaebak Convention Center, Candidate Kim stated, "If this is the case, why did we hold the primaries three times? I will suspend my schedule as a candidate from this point on."
Candidate Kim explained the reason for the suspension of his campaign, saying, "I will go up to Seoul and develop in-depth measures for various issues that I still need to address." He strongly criticized the party leadership for abruptly convening the national committee and the party convention, calling it "an attempt to forcibly pull down a legitimate presidential candidate like me."
Candidate Kim openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the party leadership, stating, "The party that has failed to protect the presidency twice is now trying to pull down the presidential candidate."
He emphasized that he has devoted all his efforts to promoting his vision for a presidential victory as the candidate of the People Power Party and has consistently shown his intention for unification.

Conflict deepens with party leadership… Kwon Young-se and Kwon Sung-dong take emergency measures.
Candidate Kim directly targeted the party by stating, "I still have a consistent mindset regarding unification. However, the party continues to refuse support for the presidential candidate." This statement appears to reflect the pressure for Kim’s resignation within the People Power Party and indicates that the conflict with party leadership has come to the surface.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Kwon Young-se, the chair of the emergency response committee, and Kwon Sung-dong, the floor leader, have hurriedly headed to the local area to meet with Candidate Kim immediately following his announcement. This is interpreted as a crisis response to Kim's sudden declaration to suspend his campaign schedule.
