Man with Brain Lesion Disability Reunited with Family After Police Search
A man with a brain lesion disability went missing at a pharmacy in Seoul but was safely returned to his family thanks to the swift search efforts by the police.
On the 30th of last month, the National Police Agency's official YouTube channel released a video titled "Husband with Brain Lesion Disability Disappeared in an Instant?!"
According to the video, on the 18th, a woman visited a pharmacy with her husband, who is in a wheelchair. While the woman went to pick up medication, her husband moved somewhere in his wheelchair. By the time the woman realized her husband was missing, it was already too late. She anxiously asked people around her, but no one knew of her husband's whereabouts.

Ultimately, the woman requested help from the police. The husband had difficulties with vision and communication due to his brain lesion disability.
Understanding the family's anxiety while waiting, worried that something might have happened, the police dedicated themselves to the search efforts. Fortunately, they found the missing person safe and returned him to his family in about 40 minutes.
The police stated that they are implementing a pre-registration system for fingerprints to prevent the disappearance of social minorities such as people with disabilities, missing children, and elderly individuals with dementia, and to assist in early detection.

In fact, this system enables quick action in cases of disappearance and greatly helps locate missing persons within the golden hour.
Internet users who watched the video expressed relief, saying, "If the golden time had been missed, he could have been missing for a long time, so it's a great fortune he was found quickly." Others commented, "I can’t imagine how scared he must have been; it feels so close to home." Compliments such as "It's reassuring to have a police force that does its job well" also followed.
