A man riding a bicycle on the shoulder was involved in an accident with a dump truck, resulting in the amputation of his arms and legs.

On the 29th, the police and fire authorities reported that at around 9:40 AM on the 28th, a 25-ton dump truck collided with a cyclist traveling in the same direction while making a right turn on a three-lane road in Mumbal-dong, Paju.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s identified as Mr. A, suffered severe injuries, including the amputation of parts of his arms and legs after being run over by the dump truck.

According to reports from the fire department, Mr. A was conscious at the scene and was transported to a nearby hospital before being urgently airlifted to Ajou University Hospital via a medical helicopter.

The police suspect that the driver of the dump truck, a man in his 50s identified as Mr. B, did not notice Mr. A while making a sharp right turn at the intersection.

Mr. A is currently receiving treatment at the hospital and his condition is not life-threatening.

Mr. B has been charged with bodily injury under the Special Act on Traffic Accidents and is being investigated for the details surrounding the accident.
