BTS’ Jungkook has achieved a new record even while serving in the military.

Billboard revealed its latest chart (dated March 16th) on the 13th (KST), with Jungkook’s “Standing Next to You” landing at 85th on the Hot 100.

Jungkook has successfully charted on the Hot 100 for 18 consecutive weeks, marking the second-longest record for a Korean solo artist. The record for the longest is held by Psy with “Gangnam Style” (2012), which charted for 31 weeks.

Jungkook also broke his own record. Previously, he entered the same chart for 17 consecutive weeks with the collaborative song “Left and Right” with Charlie Puth.

As a solo debut song, “Standing Next to You” has also maintained a long presence on the Hot 100. “Seven” has been on the chart for 15 weeks, establishing Jungkook’s unique global status as a solo artist.

“Standing Next to You” is a retro punk genre track, conveying a message of solidarity regardless of the challenges faced. Its complete performance has been a topic of conversation.

Jungkook has set various records with this song, winning trophies at numerous global awards ceremonies, including the “2023 MTV Video Music Awards” and the “2023 MTV Europe Music Awards.”

The music video achieved 100 million views on YouTube at approximately 7:39 PM on the 8th, continuing to receive steady attention from listeners despite being released in November last year.

“Golden” ranked 90th on Billboard’s main album chart, “Billboard 200,” and has been charted for 18 consecutive weeks. This breaks the record for the longest charting by a Korean solo artist.

Jungkook is also hot in Japan. On the 13th, he was mentioned at the ’38th Japan Gold Disc Award,’ winning the ‘Song of the Year by Download’ in the Asia section for “Seven.”

BTS is also performing well on Billboard’s Global charts. “Global 200” and “Global Excluding US” feature solo songs by Jimin and Jungkook continuing their popularity.

Specifically, on the “Global 200,” Jungkook’s “Seven” (28th), “Standing Next to You” (37th), “3D” (132nd), and Jimin’s “Like Crazy” (144th) are maintaining their positions.

On the “Global Excluding US,” “Seven” (21st), “Standing Next to You” (30th), “3D” (84th), and “Like Crazy” (112th) are charting, showcasing the music power of Jungkook and Jimin.

Meanwhile, BTS, including Jungkook and Jimin, are fulfilling their military duties, with full group activities planned for the second half of 2025.
