Family-Friendly Management by Large Corporations Active for Family Month
In May, designated as 'Family Month', domestic large corporations are actively engaging in family-friendly management activities. They are designating May 2nd, a day nestled in the golden holiday surrounding Children's Day, as a day off or organizing various family invitation events.
According to industry reports on the 28th, Samsung Electronics will hold a family invitation event for employees and partners at each of its workplaces on May 3rd.

The event will feature a 'spring picnic' concept where children visit their parents' workplaces, with various experiences and play facilities such as face painting, air bounces, magic and bubble shows, and parades being prepared across the sites.
LG Electronics is also preparing tours and experiential programs for families to explore the workspaces of employees at each of its locations. On May 3rd, a special memory will be offered to employees and their families by renting out the entire Robot Land amusement park in Changwon, Gyeongnam.
Various Family Events and Leave Policies by Companies
LS Group will hold a 'Children’s Day Family Happiness Camp' and a 'Filial Piety Party' for all employees across its subsidiaries.

The Family Happiness Camp, taking place on May 4th at LS Future Center in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, will feature various programs including family Olympics, air bounce experiences, carousel and bumper car rides, and cotton candy and popcorn making.
Following this, the Filial Piety Party on May 9th aims to support family time through activities such as creating parents' autobiographies, gardening, and traditional music performances.
S-OIL previously invited around 40 families of employees for a 2-day, 1-night event starting from the 17th, where they toured the headquarters building, the TS&D Center in Magok Industrial Complex, and the Onsan Plant in Ulsan.
Some companies have designated May 2nd as a company-wide day off. Companies like Lotte Chemical, Lotte Construction, and Korean Air have declared May 2nd a company-wide holiday.

Hyosung goes a step further by designating May 2nd to 7th as designated days off, providing a week-long holiday. Hyosung operates a designated holiday system to allow employees to use a certain number of annual leave days each year for recharging.
Instead of designating separate days off, LG Electronics and LS Group encourage employees to take annual leave as needed.
However, it has been observed that the atmosphere for designating days off in the industrial sector is somewhat weaker compared to the Lunar New Year holidays in January. Hyundai and Kia designated January 31 as a holiday during the Lunar New Year, but this time, they decided to leave it up to individual discretion without a separate guideline.
LG Group subsidiaries also designated company-wide holidays in January but have changed their approach this time to encourage the use of annual leave.
