“The Bupyeong Six-Group is the Most Dangerous”… 97 Gangsters Indicted in Incheon Over the Past 3 Years

Incheon Gangsters Indicted, Bupyeong Family Group Most Dangerous

In the past three years, 97 gang members in the Incheon area have been indicted, shocking the local community. Particularly concerning is the surge in crimes committed by the younger generation, so-called 'MZ gangsters'.

The Incheon District Prosecutor's Office has announced that following an investigation into members of four major violent organizations in the Incheon area over the past three years, a total of 97 people were indicted for violations of the Act on the Punishment of Violent Acts.

From last year to the first half of this year, crimes especially led by the young 'MZ gangsters' have notably increased. During this period, 11 individuals were arrested and 14 were indicted without detention.

Currently, groups such as the Ganseok Family Group, Juan Family Group, Kkalmang Group (Sinpo-dong Family Group), and Bupyeong Family Group are active in the Incheon area.

Among them, the Bupyeong Family Group is particularly dangerous as it expands its new members and instigates public assaults and conflicts between organizations, posing significant risks to the local community.

A representative case involves a member of the Bupyeong Family Group who assaulted two junior members with a 'bat'. When the police investigation began, they attempted to cover up the incident by implicating another gang member as the perpetrator.

After receiving the case, the prosecution summoned over 30 members for investigation. In this process, the gang member who directly committed the 'bat assault' was arrested and indicted for violating the law on the punishment of violent acts, special injury, and aiding the escape of a criminal.

Recently, there has been a rise in cases of young individuals joining violent organizations due to a misguided aspiration as gang-related content has spread. This phenomenon poses a significant risk of instilling incorrect values in teenagers.

The prosecution stated, "We will work to block the influx of new violent organization members," adding, "We will respond strictly according to the principle of zero tolerance, with principled arrest investigations and seeking heavy sentences."
