Seventeen has heightened expectations for their comeback, foreshadowing a bold challenge. On the 28th, they posted the trailer for their 5th studio album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' titled 'DARE OR DEATH' on their official SNS.
The video is composed of three parts and features an interactive format. Depending on the choices made at the end of the main story, it leads to contrasting conclusions. Side A presents a challenge, while Side B represents a version of oblivion.
Seventeen became aware of the Daredevil within themselves. They realized that a reckless persona existed inside them. This aspect leads them to the crossroads of challenge and complacency.
In the main segment, they encountered a Daredevil engulfed in flames and fell into an unknown impulse. As Seventeen oscillated between anxiety and madness, it overlapped with the image of the Daredevil. This implies that the two entities are one and the same. The scene with Wonwoo taking a deep breath concludes with the phrase, "Choose. Will you challenge yourself or remain?"
The Side A version showcased a bold challenge. Seventeen stepped forward despite their fears. Embracing the Daredevil, they were reborn once again. Conversely, Side B has a completely different ending. They ignored their inner voice and remained in the present, engulfed in anxiety and fear, hiding away in the thick smoke.
The strong will to challenge can be perceived throughout. At the end of each version, the phrases "Face the challenge, ignite anew" and "Without challenge, there is no new beginning" appeared.
The title 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' combines the English words for birthday and burst, conveying their determination to be reborn as a new Seventeen.
Meanwhile, Seventeen recently held a fan meeting at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. They will head to Saitama Super Arena on the 10th and 11th of next month.
