The girl group ‘LE SSERAFIM’ has captivated the archipelago with their new album. According to the Japan Record Association, LE SSERAFIM has received a ‘Gold’ certification for their third mini-album ‘EASY’, surpassing a cumulative shipment of 100,000 copies as of February.
The Japan Record Association certifies singles and albums monthly as ‘Double Platinum’ (over 500,000 copies), ‘Platinum’ (over 250,000 copies), and ‘Gold’ (over 100,000 copies) based on cumulative shipment volumes.
This marks the second time LE SSERAFIM has received a ‘Gold’ certification in Japan for an album released in Korea, following ‘UNFORGIVEN’, further proving their unparalleled popularity in Japan.
‘EASY’ dominated the latest rankings (as of March 4th) on Japan’s Oricon, taking the top spot in both the weekly album and combined weekly album categories. The team set a new record for their highest sales volume and points.
Less than two years after their debut, LE SSERAFIM has become the leading girl group in Japan, breaking numerous records as the first, fastest, and highest among K-pop girl groups in the local market.
Their popularity extends to the United States as well. ‘EASY’ placed 8th on the Billboard main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ in its latest issue (dated March 9th), and the title track entered the main song chart ‘Hot 100’ at 99th place.
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM will participate in the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’, the largest music festival in the United States, on the 13th and 20th of next month.
