An 80-year-old man hit by a fire truck returning from an emergency call… ultimately died.

An elderly man in his 80s dies after being hit by a fire truck in Songpa District, Seoul.

An incident occurred in Songpa District, Pungnap-dong, where an elderly man, estimated to be in his 80s, was struck and killed by a fire truck.

The incident took place around 4:30 PM on the 23rd, and the victim was hit by a vehicle belonging to the Gangdong Fire Department. Fire authorities found the man in cardiac arrest and performed CPR before transporting him to the hospital; however, he ultimately died around 5 PM.

At the time of the accident, it was reported that the fire truck was returning from the scene after being dispatched. The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident involving the firefighter driving the truck. This incident has raised social concerns regarding traffic safety issues related to fire trucks.
