Sudden news of former soccer player Kang Ji-yong's passing has emerged, leading the production team of JTBC's 'Divorce Counseling Camp' to discuss potential actions regarding his appearance.
On the 23rd, JTBC stated regarding the possibility of deleting the episode featuring Kang, "Nothing has been confirmed yet," and added, "We are currently in the process of confirming the production team's stance."
The news of Kang's death was shared on the same day by former soccer player Koo Bon-sang through his social media.

Kang, born in 1989, began his professional career after being drafted by Pohang Steelers in the 2009 K-League draft. He later played a key defensive role at Bucheon FC 1995 and concluded his playing career in the K3 League after the 2022 season, having also played for Gangwon FC and Incheon United FC.

After retirement, he worked in a chemical manufacturing plant to make a living. In February, he appeared on 'Divorce Counseling Camp' with his wife, Lee Da-eun, and confessed to serious marital conflicts.
During the broadcast, he disclosed, "My wish is to die in my sleep," and shared, "My desire to die is so strong that I have prepared in my car." He continued, "The stress is overwhelming. I was living diligently, but that will was broken…" expressing his profound pain.

Such revelations through the broadcast shocked viewers, and his wife, Lee Da-eun, also expressed her distress, stating, "I was threatened using his desire for death, and it was very shocking," while shedding tears.
Funeral home in Cheonan, attention focused on follow-up broadcast measures
Meanwhile, Kang Ji-yong's memorial is set up at Room 2 of the funeral home at Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital, with the funeral scheduled for 6:30 a.m. on the 25th. The burial is planned at Cheonan Memorial Park.
