This 2nd preliminary primary applied a 100% general public opinion poll with a mechanism to prevent strategic voting. This mechanism is designed to prevent supporters of other parties from influencing the primary of the opposing party, ensuring that the opinions of the People Power Party's support group are reflected more strongly.

Competition Intensifies as 4 Final Candidates Narrowed Down

As a result of this cut-off, the primary race for the People Power Party’s party leader has been narrowed to 4 candidates: Kim Mun-soo, Ahn Cheol-soo, Han Dong-hoon, and Hong Joon-pyo.

The eliminated Na Kyung-won, who was considered a strong contender within the party, unexpectedly failed to advance to the main primary. In particular, her elimination has attracted significant attention both within and outside the party.
