A is charged with fraudulently obtaining a loan of 50 million won from a bank in Cheongju using the name of her husband B, with whom she was separated while facing divorce, in January of last year.

It was revealed that she secretly took her husband’s seal without his permission to secure the loan.

Judge Kang explained, "The defendant has not made any efforts for victim restitution, and the victim demands a severe punishment."

However, he added that he considered the fact that the defendant used part of the loan for their child and that this was her first offense while determining the sentence.

This case conveys a social message that crimes exploiting familial trust must be dealt with severely by the court.

In particular, it raised awareness about the need for thorough management of personal information protection and loan procedures at financial institutions.
