A husband's dilemma over his wife's pornographic video filming
A man is contemplating divorce after discovering that his wife filmed pornographic videos.

A man, referred to as A, who shared his story on YTN Radio's 'Jo In-seop's Counseling Center', revealed that he met his wife through a marriage agency and married her after dating for a year. His wife works as a yoga instructor, and A felt satisfied with her profession and character, leading him to make the decision to marry.
However, their newlywed life did not last long. A discovered pornographic videos filmed by his wife on her phone.
His wife spent her time filming the videos during the morning hours when she didn’t have yoga classes, which left A in shock and feeling betrayed. Moreover, while engaging in online chats, his wife fell victim to a smishing scam, losing 50 million won.
That money was the household expense A had entrusted to his wife at the beginning of their marriage.

A also provided his wife with 100 million won and interior design costs for purchasing a home, but he claimed he has no idea how that money is being used. He stated, "All that's left is mental suffering," adding, "It's difficult to continue living a married life with my wife."
Attorney Lim Kyung-mi explained, "Under civil law, a spouse’s infidelity includes not only adultery but also any behavior that violates the duty of fidelity," noting that A can claim damages for his mental anguish.
She also added that there have been recent cases where a divorce was granted and damages awarded due to a spouse's masturbation and the resulting chat activities.
Furthermore, Attorney Lim advised that "the money lost to the scam was not for the sake of maintaining their joint life, so it can be considered as existing property in the event of property division. If the marriage ended quickly, A can retrieve the full amount given for the home purchase unless there is a special reason."
