Cheating and Breaking Up… Ex-boyfriend Who Married a Vietnamese Woman
A woman in her 40s shared her shock after her ex-boyfriend, who had broken up with her, married a Vietnamese woman.
On the 11th, a video titled "My Ex-Boyfriend Just Got Married Internationally, It's So Absurd. Woman in Her 40s" was uploaded on the YouTube channel "Love Kindergarten Romi."
The informant, Ms. A, opened up by saying, "I have memories of a relationship that left an unhealed wound in my heart."
She continued, "He was my boyfriend in my late 30s. At that time, I was very close to being a lifelong single, struggling to find a job and losing a lot of confidence in life when he approached me."

Ms. A recalled, "Looking back, I don’t think he truly loved me. He never took me to the Han River walking path, which was just a 10-minute walk away, and we only went to motels every time we met."
After months of such an unstable relationship, her ex-boyfriend suddenly informed her, "I've developed feelings for someone else lately. What would she think if she knew I was seeing you?" and broke up with her.
Although five years have passed, Ms. A still cannot forget him and has been waiting for the hope that he might contact her someday.

Recently, however, Ms. A saw her ex-boyfriend's profile picture on KakaoTalk, which featured a wedding photo of him standing affectionately with a bride who appeared to be of Vietnamese nationality.
She expressed, "In that moment, my heart sank. Honestly, I don't understand. He had decent education and income—why would he choose to marry internationally?"

The YouTuber who shared the story pointed out, "The difference between men and women is that even when men are in their 40s, if they broaden their horizons to international marriage, they can marry younger women. But for women, even if they have good conditions, it becomes extremely difficult to marry a decent man when they enter their mid-40s."
He added, "In a situation where the conditions for both genders have changed, feeling like 'I don’t even have a romantic interest, but that man has married a younger Vietnamese woman' can lead to self-blame."
Furthermore, he stated, "These days, for many 40-year-old men, international marriage is not a second choice but rather the best option," explaining that, from a man's perspective, it means treating older women as subordinates, having to be attentive and caring in the relationship.
He continued, "When it comes to pregnancy and childbirth, due to the risks associated with advanced age, choosing to change nationality and select a much younger woman is a far more sensible and advantageous choice."
Despite this, he acknowledged that living as a single in your 40s is much more challenging than in your 30s, and many feel that their 'womanly' phase is over during this time. He encouraged them to stay strong and overcome these difficulties.
