Mother Who Lost Son in Traffic Accident Donates 100 Million Won to Hospital After 40 Years
Jin Nam-deok (75), residing in Gimje, Jeollabuk-do, donated 100 million won to the hospital that treated her son, who died in a traffic accident 40 years ago, to express her gratitude. This story has recently come to light and touched many hearts.

On the 21st, she donated 100 million won to Jeonju Jesus Hospital.
She recalled that in 1986, when her son was just 9 years old, he was involved in an unforeseen traffic accident and received the best possible treatment at Jesus Hospital, but ultimately did not survive. Since then, Jin has lived her life keeping a promise she made with her son to help children who do not receive timely treatment whenever possible.
Jin said, “Even after sending my son away due to a sudden accident, I have lived with gratitude for the diligent treatment provided by Jesus Hospital. I don’t have any special wishes; I hope the hospital maintains its current standards and continues to do its best for the treatment of patients.”

Her donation will be used for the hospital’s development fund and the establishment of an integrated rehabilitation hospital.
A representative from Jesus Hospital expressed gratitude again to Jin Nam-deok for conveying unchanging appreciation and love over the years, stating, “We will correctly use the mother’s heartfelt gratitude and intentions in necessary areas.”
Jin's donation carries significance beyond mere financial support.
She has endured challenging times for many years to keep her promise to her son, and through this donation, she can provide a better medical environment for other patients. This shows that the sorrow and pain she experienced can lead to hope and healing for others.
