The YouTuber known as 'Executioner,' who unlawfully disclosed the personal information of the perpetrators involved in the gang sexual assault case of a middle school girl in Miryang, Gyeongnam, 20 years ago, has been sentenced to imprisonment.

On the 18th, Chief Judge Woo Sang-beom of the Changwon District Court’s Criminal Division 6 sentenced 20-year-old YouTuber A to 3 years in prison and ordered him to pay 5,660,000 won for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization (defamation) and other charges.

A was charged with posting videos containing the personal information of the perpetrators of the Miryang sexual assault case on his YouTube channel from June to August of last year.

He was also accused of disclosing the location of a restaurant run by a family of one of the individuals identified as a perpetrator, thereby interfering with their business.

According to police investigations, A and others created the videos by collecting unverified reports and materials obtained through internet searches as public interest in the Miryang middle school girl sexual assault case increased.

In the process, they disclosed the personal information of individuals unrelated to the actual case, resulting in harm to approximately 20 victims.
