A man, referred to as A, who stole items worth millions of won from the home of broadcaster Park Na-rae, has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 18th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul stated, "We have arrested and transferred a man in his 30s, A, to the prosecution on charges of stealing expensive items from Park Na-rae's residence."
A reportedly committed the theft at Park's home on the 4th, taking items valued at several tens of millions of won, and it has been confirmed that he sold the stolen goods as well.
Through the analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and investigations into the stolen items, the police identified the suspect and have been conducting the investigation while he remained in custody. A has a prior record of theft.
He also committed burglary at another residence in Yongsan last month. It appears that A was unaware he was stealing from Park Na-rae's home during this incident.
The police have combined the charges for A's earlier crimes, including breaking and entering and theft, and have sent the case to the prosecution.
