Director Jung Yoo-mi's animation has been invited to the Cannes Film Festival.

On the 18th (Korean time), the French Critics Association announced the selected works for the short and feature competition sections of the 78th Cannes International Film Festival Critics' Week on its official website.

Director Jung Yoo-mi has been invited to compete in the short film category with her work 'Glasses.' It is the only nomination in the animation category among a total of 10 films.

The Critics' Week, which 'Glasses' has been invited to, is organized by the Critics Association and has been running since 1962. It carefully selects innovative works to introduce to audiences.

This invitation helps to uphold the pride of Korean cinema. If 'Glasses' had not been nominated, it would have marked approximately 26 years since the last invitation for any category.

'Glasses' is a selected work for the short animation production support at the Bucheon International Animation Festival. The story revolves around an inner child reconciling with its shadow.

Meanwhile, this year's Cannes Film Festival Critics' Week will be held from the 15th to the 23rd of next month.
