60% of the Public Says "It is Undesirable for Han Duck-soo to Run for President"
According to a recent public opinion poll, 6 out of 10 citizens responded that it is undesirable for Han Duck-soo, the acting Prime Minister, to run for president.

The National Barometer Survey (NBS), conducted jointly by Embrain Public, KSTAT Research, Korea Research, and Korean Research, revealed that from the 14th to the 16th, 66% of 1,001 voters aged 18 and over nationwide said that Han's presidential candidacy is "undesirable." In contrast, only 24% viewed it as "desirable."
When analyzed by party support, a remarkable 91% of supporters of the Democratic Party of Korea evaluated Han's candidacy negatively.
Conversely, among support for the People Power Party, 55% deemed it "desirable," which is over half. However, it is noteworthy that 38% of this group responded that it is "undesirable."
When analyzed by ideological inclination, opinions among conservatives were evenly split at 46% each for and against. In the centrist group, the opinion of "undesirable" was overwhelmingly prevalent, showing similar trends to the overall public sentiment.

Meanwhile, Lee Jae-myung, a candidate in the Democratic Party's presidential primary, appears to be ahead in hypothetical matchups against candidates from the conservative camp, including the People Power Party.
In hypothetical matchups against the People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo and the Reform Party candidate Lee Jun-seok, Lee Jae-myung garnered 45%, while Kim Moon-soo and Lee Jun-seok received 22% and 9%, respectively. Additionally, Lee also scored 45% against Hong Joon-pyo of the People Power Party and Lee Jun-seok, again leading.
In the Democratic Party primary race, Lee Jae-myung maintained his lead in suitability surveys, significantly ahead of Kim Dong-yeon (8%) and Kim Kyung-soo (3%). Former Democratic Party member Kim Doo-kwan, who declared his intention to withdraw from the primary, still received slight support.
In the suitability survey within the People Power Party, Hong Joon-pyo received the highest support, followed by Han Dong-hoon, Kim Moon-soo, and Ahn Cheol-soo. However, the high rate of non-response and lack of support indicated that a solid support base still needs to be established.
This survey was conducted using telephone interviews with virtual mobile numbers, achieving a response rate of 23.2% and a margin of error of ±3.1%, providing reliable results. More detailed information can be found on the website of the National Election Survey Deliberation Committee.
