Recently, a video of a Benz vehicle attempting to escape by ramming into police cars and citizen vehicles in front of and behind it near Dobong Station in Seoul rapidly spread across online communities.

The video has caught the attention of many netizens, referred to by various nicknames such as 'the chilling Dobong Station Benz incident' and 'Dobong Station GTA incident,' especially as various speculations and conspiracy theories surrounding the identity of the Benz driver emerged.

The video captures a situation where a white Benz sedan is surrounded by four police cars and three civilian vehicles.

The Benz driver attempted multiple escape maneuvers while being surrounded by the police cars but was unable to break free due to the blockade by the police and civilian vehicles.

During this process, scenes of citizens evacuating and a police officer nearly getting hit by a vehicle were also recorded, which incited public outrage among netizens.

Actual Situation Revealed Amid Speculations and Theories

As the video spread, various speculations and accusations were continuously raised online regarding the driver's identity. Some netizens questioned, “Why isn’t the driver being pulled out immediately?” and suggested theories like, “Isn’t the driver the child of a prominent politician?” and “Could it be a drug offender?”

Additionally, some expressed concerns about the limited media coverage in relation to the severity of the incident, leading to conspiracy theories about possible external pressure from certain factions on the media.

However, according to the Dobong Police Station, which is investigating the incident, the driver of the Benz was confirmed to be a middle-aged woman with a history of depression.

It was revealed that this woman was in a situation where she needed to be re-hospitalized for treatment but refused and attempted to flee in her car.

The woman's husband reported to the police that she was trying to escape in a car to avoid going to the hospital, leading to the video footage situation occurring during the police chase that followed.
