
The 'Sunjae Syndrome' continues. The drama OST 'Sonagi' sung by actor Byun Wooseok is maintaining its music power. According to the world's largest streaming platform Spotify, the original soundtrack (OST) 'Sonagi' from tvN's 'Sunjae Leaping Up' exceeded a cumulative play count of 100 million on the 16th.
'Sonagi' is the first track of the OST released on April 8 of last year for 'Sunjae Leaping Up'. It appeared during a performance scene by the band 'Eclipse', which includes the character Ryu Sunjae (played by Byun Wooseok).
Byun Wooseok performed the song himself, showcasing his top-notch vocal skills. The sweet piano accompaniment blended with his poignant voice positively influenced the drama's popularity.
The song swept domestic and international music charts. 'Sonagi' ranked 4th on Melon's 'Top 100'. Even after the drama ended, its popularity did not wane, achieving 14th place on the '2024 Melon Annual Chart'.
The track also made its mark on the American Billboard charts, entering the 'Billboard Global 200' chart at number 199. In its second week, it climbed to 167, demonstrating the power of the drama's fans.
Meanwhile, the production team of 'Sunjae Leaping Up' released a limited edition LP on the 1st to celebrate the first anniversary of the broadcast, which includes club and concert versions of 'Sonagi'.
