Busan Police Agency Shooting Accident, Officer Passes Away
An officer who fell into a state of unconsciousness due to a gun misfire incident at the Busan Police Agency's indoor shooting range has sadly passed away.
According to the Busan Police Agency on the 16th, the accident occurred around 12:20 PM at the police agency's mobile unit shooting range located in Daejeo-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, during a routine shooting training session.

As a result of the incident, Officer A, in his 20s, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he lost consciousness. Unfortunately, he passed away at 4:14 PM while receiving treatment, approximately four hours after the accident.
Officer A was part of the 6th Mobile Unit of the Busan Police Agency and was conducting shooting training using a .38 caliber revolver.
It has been reported that he suffered a fatal injury when he was accidentally struck in the head by a live round that was unexpectedly discharged while he was checking the firearm.
The police are currently analyzing closed-circuit (CC) TV footage from the shooting range and have also secured testimonies from fellow officers who participated in the training at that time.
