Former President Yoon Suk-yeol Returns Home Amidst Enthusiastic Supporters and Revealed Conflicts

Former President Yoon Suk-yeol returned to his residence in Acrovista, Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 11th, a week after his impeachment.

Around 5:30 PM, after leaving the Hanam-dong official residence, former President Yoon arrived at his home without using the underground parking lot. Upon entering the complex, he stepped out of his vehicle and spent about six minutes greeting supporters and residents holding the Taegeukgi, shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries.

First Lady Kim Gun-hee, who had not been seen at the official residence, was also present.

As news of the former president's return spread, numerous supporters gathered in front of the apartment's main gate starting around 5 PM. They waved Taegeukgi and American flags, enthusiastically chanting "Yoon Again, Yoon Again!" They shouted slogans such as "We Protect President Yoon Suk-yeol," "Impeachment is Fraudulent," "Condemnation of Election Rigging," "Dissolution of the Constitutional Court," and "Eradication of Anti-National Forces," openly expressing their defiance against the Constitutional Court's impeachment decision. Some supporters insisted, "We must overturn the Constitutional Court's ruling and bring him back!"

Extreme Support Actions and Revealed Conflicts

The excitement among the supporters was significant.

One female supporter fainted while crying upon seeing the former president's vehicle and had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

Another female supporter was seen kneeling with a Taegeukgi in both hands, praying.

Mr. Park, in his 60s, who had been waiting in front of the residence early on, remarked, "This is someone who shouldn't have come yet; I'm already disappointed they are here," while Mr. Choi, in his 50s, who came from Yangcheon-gu, stated, "It is only right to come out and welcome President Yoon who revealed the truth," standing in place for several hours.

However, on that day, both pro and con rallies took place in front of the former president's residence, confirming that the divisions run deep.

Supporters shouted at former People's Power Representative Han Dong-hoon, calling him a "traitor" and urging him not to think about running for office.

Some participants in the opposing rally derogatorily referred to them as "commies" and yelled "Lee Jae-myung is a Communist!" targeting the former head of the Democratic Party.

In this situation, scuffles broke out in various locations, prompting police intervention.

Around 4 PM, in front of the Acrovista main gate, a supporter of former President Yoon clashed verbally with a counter-protester who yelled "Execution for the traitor Yoon Suk-yeol!" and responded with "Get lost to North Korea!"

Residents' Discomfort and Police Response

In this situation, the inconvenience for Acrovista residents was considerable.

Participants in the rally organized by a progressive YouTuber criticized Gangnam residents as they engaged in heated exchanges.

Counter-protesters expressed, "How well can Gangnam people live? Just because you are wealthy, does that mean everything?" and "Don’t say anything to us about being noisy. We’ve suffered for three years because of you," raising their voices.

Parents holding their children's hands on their way home from school hurried their steps while plugging their children's ears due to the commotion.

A resident from a nearby apartment complex expressed frustration about the counter-protest, saying, "(Former President Yoon) coming down should be enough; I don't understand why they are acting like this," adding, "It’s uncomfortable to the point where it can't be expressed in words."

With the former president's return home, moving boxes were also transported, and attention is expected to focus on his future activities and plans.
