A middle-aged woman causing chaos in a restaurant… Owner expresses 'anxiety'

A self-employed individual is expressing anxiety due to a middle-aged woman who suddenly burst into verbal abuse, creating chaos in the store and then leaving.

On the 9th, JTBC's 'Incident Report' featured the story of a self-employed individual in their 50s, referred to as A, who has been operating a restaurant in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province for two years.

A explained, "Since December of last year, there has been a middle-aged female customer who frequently visits the store. At first, she complained that 'the side dishes were spoiled,' so I apologized and removed the side dishes. However, there was nothing wrong with the side dishes."

He continued, "After that, the woman kept coming to the store and raised issues, claiming 'the side dishes are spoiled,' and she requested that we pack food for her, saying she had caught a cold."

When A refused her requests, the female customer allegedly shouted insults, saying, "Is this how you run a business?", "Don’t you know I’m a regular customer?", "I’m the daughter of President Chun Doo-hwan," "It would be easy to take your life," and "I will kill you."

A month after the incident occurred, on the evening of the 3rd at around 7:30 PM, A stated that the problematic female customer visited the store accompanied by a man holding a dog.

A described, "As soon as she entered the store, she shouted, 'Hey, pack your things. I bought this building. Get out,' and immediately started throwing insults."

The female customer referred to the man accompanying her as a 'bodyguard' and instructed him, "Go beat that woman."

When the man did not comply, the enraged woman forcibly entered the kitchen where A was and began to wreak havoc.

In the CCTV footage from the restaurant that A shared, the problematic woman was seen knocking over and throwing every kitchen item within reach.

Ultimately, A reported the woman to the police. The woman, who was apprehended by police who responded to the scene, is currently undergoing long-term treatment at a mental hospital.

A revealed, "It turned out that the man she referred to as a 'bodyguard' was someone she had just met that day for a dog adoption," and added, "She often caused trouble in local stores and had already been reported multiple times."

He went on to say, "I’m so scared and anxious, not knowing when she will be discharged and come back for revenge," expressing that "the damage amounted to millions of won, and the path to compensation feels bleak."
