Actress Suzy and Lee Jin-wook come with a story of separation.
The production company announced on the 7th that the movie "Breakfast Meeting for the Heartbroken" (directed by Lim Sun-ae, hereinafter referred to as 'Breakfast Meeting') wrapped up filming last month.
"Breakfast Meeting" is based on a novel of the same name. It tells the story of men and women who have experienced the pain of heartbreak. Filming started last December and concluded last month.
Suzy plays the role of Sagan, a flight attendant. She falls in love with captain Jeong-soo (played by Yoo Ji-tae). The realistic story is enhanced by her delicate performance.
She expressed her feelings, saying, "I was happy to be able to work with good directors and actors," and "The process of adapting a novel that I enjoyed reading into a movie gave me a strange sense of emotion."
She continued, "Just as I found comfort while portraying Sagan, I hope the audience can also find warm solace through the film," revealing her affection for the character.
Lee Jin-wook portrays Ji-hoon, a consultant. He experiences a breakup after a long-term relationship with teacher Hyeon-jeong (played by Kim Sae-rok). He deeply captures the essence of a long-term lover.
He confessed to his mixed feelings about successfully finishing the filming, saying, "I feel both happy and regretful. I was able to gain pleasant energy," expressing his gratitude.
He also left a message, stating, "I worked hard to express the feelings of separation while playing Ji-hoon. I hope the audience can feel warm empathy and comfort as well."
Director Lim Sun-ae also shared her feelings upon wrapping up filming, saying, "Thanks to the efforts of the staff and actors, we were able to finish filming," and promised to continue working hard on the remaining post-production.
Meanwhile, "Breakfast Meeting" aims for a theatrical release in the latter half of this year.
