Yoon Suk-yeol's Impeachment: Expressing Anger from Jannabi's Drummer Yoon-gyeol
As President Yoon Suk-yeol was impeached by a unanimous ruling from the Constitutional Court, Yoon-gyeol, the former drummer of the band Jannabi, has attracted attention for expressing his anger through social media. The Constitutional Court decided to impeach President Yoon during a ruling held on the morning of the 4th at the Supreme Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul, with all justices agreeing on the verdict. This decision came 122 days after the declaration of emergency martial law on December 3 last year and 111 days after the impeachment motion was submitted.
Yoon-gyeol expressed his dissatisfaction by posting on his Instagram story, "People who are happy about the impeachment should do some research. It's a freaking day." He later added on Threads, "Things are really going crazy, seriously." These comments have drawn more attention due to their connection to his past controversies.
Yoon-gyeol was at the center of controversy in 2021 due to allegations of assaulting a woman. At that time, Jannabi's agency, Peponi Music, stated, "Yoon-gyeol had already terminated his contract with Jannabi before serving as a social service agent, and participated as a guest without renewing the contract after his service." The following year, Yoon-gyeol received a suspended indictment and stated, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern," mentioning that the incident was resolved through amicable agreement with the victim.
The decision to impeach President Yoon has caused significant turmoil in the political arena and among the public, leading to various reactions.
